Ground cumin brings a warm, nutty depth to curries, dhal and rice. Add it with the other spices as the onions soften, mix it into rubs and marinades, or stir a pinch into yoghurt and raita.
Storing it
Keep the jar tightly closed, away from heat, light and moisture (not above the stove), and use a dry spoon so the contents stay fresh.
